JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS

Racine County and the State of Wisconsin through its technical college system offer outstanding workforce training programs for new and existing industry.  The following schools and centers assist in this effort.

The Racine County Workforce Development Center offers a multitude of services to assist area residents find employment, improve the education and training of the local workforce, and assist area businesses in filling job openings. 

 

The center offers labor market information, access to career training and job placement services, and serves as the connection between employers and qualified workers.  The benefits to the employer are the opportunity to recruit qualified applicants.  Businesses can take advantage of the center’s ability to tailor the service to meet employers hiring and training requirements for new employees.  In addition, the Center offers services designed to assist all residents of Racine County to succeed in their search for employment.  The end result for the community is well trained Racine citizens working in productive jobs and creating a strong state and local economy.

 

Gateway Technical College

Gateway, founded in 1911, was the nation's first publicly supported technical institute. It has remained a leader ever since in its education programs. Gateway Technical College offers both Associate of Applied Science and Technical Diploma Degrees in 77 different major fields, graduating more than 900 students each year.

 

Workforce & Economic Development Division (WEDD)

For over twenty-five years Gateway Technical College has been committed to assisting area employers with their training needs. WEDD (previously Business & Industry Services) is collaborating with Gateway’s Advanced Technology Centers (ATC) to promote business development, workforce development and technology innovation in southeast Wisconsin by serving as a “one-stop” economic center for workforce development. WEDD is the leading supplier of training solutions to area business and industry by providing effective, efficient and affordable training for the local workforce through:

 

 

WEDD provides training solutions for the business, industry, service and government sectors.  Based on specific needs, customized training programs can be offered either on campus or at employer sites. Gateway Technical College can also provide one-on-one technical assistance in areas such as production, marketing or other operations.  In addition, Gateway develops programs to  accommodate emerging technologies for employee retraining. 

 

Courses, workshops and seminars are offered on-site, on campus or at any of the Advanced Technology Centers at times and dates convenient for your schedule. In addition to traditional classroom learning we offer on-line learning, self-paced learning and accelerated Based on specific needs, customized training programs can be offered either on campus or at employer sites.
