Water and Wastewater

 

Lake Michigan is the source of water for the majority of urban development in Racine County with one of the world's largest reservoirs of clean, fresh water at low rates. Public water supply is generally available within and adjacent to urban areas in Racine County, serving approximately 75 percent of the county's population. Overall, there are 13 publicly owned water utilities in the county, as well as numerous small private water utilities serving isolated residential and institutional land uses.

 

Public sanitary sewerage systems serve the majority of the county population.
